It is hoped a hat will meet...
a physical need for warmth and dryness in cold and stormy weather,
an emotional need by reminding the recipient that they are loved and cared for, and most importantly,
a spiritual need through the sharing of a Gospel tract with each hat.
Since 2012, hats have been distributed to the U.S. Military in Afghanistan through Daughters of the American Revolution, Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, Angel Tree Prison Ministry, Pro-Life groups, hospitals, rescue missions, homeless shelters, orphanages, street ministries, foreign missionaries, various other groups, and to individuals passing by anytime, anywhere...possibly “entertaining angels unawares.”
WHO CAN GET INVOLVED?
Hands to Hearts invites adults, 18 years and older, experienced in crocheting or knitting to join us in making basic hats for all ages. Hat patterns and yarn will be provided. Participants need to supply their own crochet hooks or knitting needles. We do have a few hat looms available, if needed.
