Learn More About Our Upward Flag Football & Cheerleading League

Upward Flag Football & Cheerleading programming focuses on building a healthy competitive spirit and developing athletic skills in young athletes while reaching them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is based on Luke 2:52: “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

At Triad Baptist Church, all Upward Sports teams practice on one evening each week, for one hour. Teams play one game each week on Saturdays. All practices and games take place on our spacious, inviting campus on South Main Street in Kernersville.

Players ranging from 5-14 years old (as of August 1st) and cheerleaders ranging from 5-11 years old (as of August 1st) are welcome to take part as participants in our league. Flag football divisions will be organized by age to foster a safe and competitive environment on the field.

Wednesday, April 29th, 2026 - Registration opens.
Friday, July 17th, 2026 - Final day for early registration.
Saturday, August 1st, 2026 - Player evaluations.
Friday, August 7th, 2026 - Final registration deadline.
Saturday, August 8th, 2026 - Player evaluations.
Week of August 16th, 2026 - Practices begin.
Saturday, September 5th, 2026 - First game.
Saturday, October 31st, 2026 - Final game.

What's included for players?

Early Registration: $100 (ends 7/17)
Regular Registration: $125
Included in the registration cost for flag football players will be a reversible game jersey, flags, a free snack and drink after each game, and an end of season gift from TBC. Shorts are optional to purchase and can be added for an additional $10 fee.

What's included for cheerleaders?

Early Registration: $100 (ends 7/17)
Regular Registration: $125
Included in the registration cost for cheerleaders will be a sleeveless cheer top and skort, megaphone, pom-poms, hair bow, and an end of season gift from TBC.

Get Involved

Our volunteers are crucial to our Upward Flag Football & Cheerleading league. Coaches, referees, and other volunteers provide a Christ-like example for players and families. All volunteers serve to accomplish the mission of TBC’s Upward leagues; promoting the discovery of Jesus Christ through sports.
