Triad Baptist Church's Upward Sports Ministry offers basketball, soccer, flag football, and cheerleading programs in a safe and caring environment. Representing TBC's largest community outreach ministry, Upward Sports has offered high-quality youth sports leagues at an affordable price for more than 20 years.

Coaches are the primary point of interaction with Upward Sports players and families, and are our greatest area of need in each league.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of Upward Sports coaches include:
• Planning and running a one-hour weekly practice during the 8-10 week season
• Providing practice devotions, prayer, and gospel-centered direction each week
• Coaching your team in a one-hour game on Saturdays
• Communicating with parents via text and/or email
• Maintaining a Christ-like attitude at all times, setting a good example for players and families
Coaches must be members or actively attending a local, Bible-believing church to serve within TBC's Upward Sports Ministry. All coaches must complete the Upward Sports Ministry screening form and TBC security waiver. Coaches who have already completed these requirements for a past season do not need to do so again.

Referees manage Upward Sports games, maintaining a safe and positive environment while teaching and enforcing the rules of each sport.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of Upward Sports referees include:
• Learning the Upward Sports rules and regulations for the applicable sport
• Managing games on Saturdays, teaching and enforcing the rules of each sport
• Monitoring the game clock to manage period breaks, substitutions, and timeouts
• Maintaining a Christ-like attitude at all times, setting a good example for players and families
Referees can serve for multiple games each Saturday.

Other volunteers are regularly needed to serve on the concessions teams, grounds crew, as clock operators, and in other game day roles.
