Sudsy Saturday pays off
|
A steady stream of cars kept about 30 volunteers of The Crossing Middle School ministry busy June 18.
Middle School Student Pastor Toby Pegram said the car wash fundraiser netted $1,000. Along with the ministry’s Giving Tree fundraiser in May, that total means more than half of the Middle School Ministry Summer Camp July 25-29 at the Myrtle Beach Christian Retreat Center is now paid for.
“It was a great Saturday washing cars,” Pegram said. “We had a great turnout, far better than I could have ever hoped for. The kids and adults worked really hard all day long. We had a lot of fun together and are very thankful to everybody who came out and supported us and helped make Summer Camp even more affordable for our campers.
“We’re looking forward to a great time week at camp!”
