Take time to recharge your batteries spiritually and prepare for 2016 by attending the Jumpstart 2016 women’s ministry conference 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 30 at Triad.

Led by Dr. Shannon Warden, Triad’s director of women’s ministries, Jumpstart 2016 aims to encourage and challenge women to put Christ first for their own replenishment, and so they can better serve those around them.

Register online or visit the church office to register for the free conference. The deadline is Wednesday, Jan. 20. Light refreshments will be served. There is no childcare.

“We (women) need to train ourselves to reverse our habits so that we first recharge and then serve,” Warden said. “That’s easier said than done, but events such as Jumpstart 2016 are a step in the right direction.”

Warden will offer insight and practical ideas, drawing on such passages as Luke 10:38-42 where Jesus cautioned Martha to stop and rest instead of focusing too much on the daily life tasks she worried about. “Jesus said ‘only one thing is necessary’ — resting in Him and listening to His word. That’s what women may want to do, but instead, they often stay busy serving others.

“Come to Jumpstart 2016 if you think you’ll influence anyone in your life this year,” she said. “It could be that you influence your family, students, co-workers, staff, clients, patients, volunteers, teammates, or others. If you are potentially changing lives, please join us.”

Warden said that the first event on the 2016 calendar for women’s ministries at Triad was purposefully designed to be a fun and uplifting time of fellowship, to be short (just two hours, or 1 to 3 p.m.) and held on a Saturday (Jan. 30) to fit into as many women’s schedules as possible.

“I’ll offer insight and practical ideas,” she says. “I’ll also facilitate time for women to talk comfortably with each other about their strengths and limitations, pray together, and work on identifying a few takeaways that might guide them in their leadership and service in 2016.”

While the conference is geared toward busy adult women who serve and lead in any capacity, Warden said its lessons could also be appropriate for older teenage girls.

Women’s Ministries at Triad

Warden said Jumpstart 2016 kicks off another exciting year of women’s ministry at Triad. That includes a Night at the Ball, the Ladies Event Planning Team event Feb. 12 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Youth Room. Register in the Connector hallway on Sunday, Jan. 31, and Feb. 7

Visit the TBC Women’s Ministry page at tbcnow.org to learn about all of Triad’s women’s ministry opportunities, dates, and times: Hannah’s Prayer, Heart to Heart, Knee Warriors, Ladies Event Planning Team, Mom Connection, and Moms in Prayer International.

Warden said Triad’s women’s ministries also have online women’s Bible studies, with the next beginning by early February, plus face-to-face women’s Bible studies that occur on Sunday nights and challenge and equip women to go deeper in their understanding and application of scripture.
