MYTBC: Member portal use continues to grow

Mouseover MYTBC words on Triad Baptist Church website

Gone are the days of church file cabinets filled with paper membership records, attendance reports, and other data.

Now, with a few clicks, taps or swipes, Triad Baptist members can see who’s having a birthday, check church attendance, join a group, make a contribution or print out giving histories, see what’s ahead on the church calendar, upload a new photo, update contact information, and much more.

Launched in 2011 and known as MYTBC, the private member portal has digitized the church and its operations and brought new capabilities.

Example: A Life Group leader can come home from a meeting, log on to MYTBC, call up their group, check the boxes on their electronic membership list for those who attended, and send an email with that night’s prayer requests to the full group.

“MYTBC is an incredibly powerful tool for ministry because of the way it uses technology to make it easier for people to connect with each other and plug into Triad Baptist Church and what we’re about—to worship, connect, serve, and reach for the cause of Jesus Christ and to make Him known,” says Dennis Roberts, executive administrator for church and academy operations.

Getting started with MYTBC is easy. Just log on to Triad’s website, and click on the “MYTBC” heading at the right of the gray navigation bar. When the MYTBC login screen comes up, click on the “Click here” link after “Need a login?” Then fill out the fields and submit.

Already have a MYTBC account? Just enter your email or username and password. Remember: Since Triad uses the email you enter in the personal information section for communications, remember to update your email and other contact promptly if it changes.

A few highlights of what MYTBC makes possible:

Membership

  • Members can update personal records and photos, view group and church directories, and share them with others
  • They can set also up and manage groups and analyze group data

Giving

  • Members can give online and use MYTBC to manage and track their contributions.
  • Contributors can give one time or recurring gifts and see gift history and giving schedules
  • It integrates with Triad’s financial record system to make for easy reconciliation of gifts.

Groups

Give your leaders and members the dynamic communication tools they need. MYTBC lets you connect members, attendees, and seekers to the group events that interest them.

  • Members and prospects can go online and search for the groups that interest them, find out more, and even request to join
  • Leaders can set up and view rosters of people in groups, send out group communications, and quickly update member records
  • Group members can access contact information, communicate with each other, and view calendars
  • Leaders can update personal records and photos, as well as view group and church directories

Events

Online event registration within MYTBC simplifies registration by allowing members, prospective members, and even guests to discover, register, and pay for events online.

  • Family members, friends, or groups of individuals can be registered for an event in one registration process.
  • Event managers can promote an event and link individuals directly to the event registration form.
  • Church calendars and personal event calendars can be easily updated.
  • Full and partial event payments can be set up for online receipt.
  • Receipts can be printed directly from the event status page.

Privacy and Security

MYTBC information is kept secure with private, password-protected online access.

  • All users must sign in with a username and password before they can view any data.
  • Roberts (the administrator) creates the staff user accounts and sets up their passwords. (Staff can then change their own passwords).
  • When members first register for MYTBC, they must enter their first name, last name, suffix (if they have one) and email address as entered in the church’s membership roll. The member is then sent an email with the username and temporary password.
