Hot Topics: Sunday Nights in November

Hot Topics (Presentation (169))

Join us on Sunday Nights in November for our "Hot Topics" series featuring Pastor Rob, Pastor Jason, and Mark Baker. This one-hour class meets on Sunday nights in G-216 at 5:30 PM.

Nov. 6: "Politics Without Being Political"-- Come out and hear Mark Baker on November 6th as he presents “The Moral and Biblical Perspectives of the Issues That are Prevalent for This Election”. He will share his experience in politics over the years. Mark is currently a councilman in Tobaccoville. He has also served as the mayor for the village and is a former Forsyth County Commissioner. He was a previous Chair of the Forsyth County Republican Party. As well as, a coordinator for Mark Walker for Senate in 2022 and for Dan Forrest for Governor in 2020. Mark was the campaign manager for Dale Folwell for State Treasurer in 2020.

Nov. 13: “Is it Murder or Is It Mercy?”-- On November 13th , Pastor Rob Decker will be speaking about what the Bible teaches us on how to make difficult medical decisions for our loved ones.

Euthanasia is a Greek term that means “easy death”. This topic has been one that
he has been asked several times in ministry. Oftentimes, with family
members standing right outside of the ICU. Euthanasia has raised many moral
issues over recent years. Is it ever morally right to withhold medical treatment
from a terminally ill patient? Is it ever right to end life support? Is it
murder or is it mercy? What are the parameters to apply when answering this
question? What does the Bible say? These questions and others about Euthanasia
will be discussed from a Christian worldview.

Nov. 20: “How Do You Identify?”--Jason Shuler will be speaking on November 20th. We are living in a culture that is increasingly postmodern and anti-Christian; this is perhaps most clearly seen in the cultural crisis of sexual identity. In this session, we will discuss the LGBTQ+community, the widespread effects of their agenda, and how to approach this community from a Biblical perspective.
