End-of-year giving funds improvement projects

Members again gave over and above to close out 2014, allowing Triad to tackle two more campus improvement projects.

Dennis Roberts, executive administrator for academy and operations, said the church is obtaining competitive quotes for:

  • Building four light cages to protect the spotlights suspended from the ceiling of the Worship Center/Gym
  • Installing two video surveillance cameras in the Kids Street Worship Center

Roberts first shared the good news — that members gave $58,973.06 over and above tithes, offerings and capital campaign contributions in December — at the church’s January business meeting.

Since the church still will have money left over after both projects, Roberts said the church’s Executive Leadership Team is weighing a host of options for the money. Those could include starting some rough grading on the jogging/prayer walk trail on the new land purchased, but no decisions have yet been made.

Once all bids are submitted for both projects, Roberts said the work will begin immediately.

Tim Gerber, executive pastor for children and ministries, said the new cameras aren’t specific to Kids Street but for overall security.

“The strategic placement of the two cameras into the old sanctuary space will allow security to see what happens in there at all times just as they can other parts of the church campus, and the new cameras also allow recording, giving us that capability.”
