Music | SNAC Classes
I was born in Decatur, Alabama, but grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the son of a preacher. My dad pastored a church and also served as an itinerant evangelist. With the influence of a Christian home, I realized at an early age that I needed to be saved and received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I attended Tennessee Temple Academy and University from the first grade until I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in education (math proficiency) and a minor in physical education. While in the sixth grade, I began playing the trombone and developed a love for music. After graduating from college, I became a high school teacher, coach, youth pastor and music director at a Baptist church and school. I met my wife, Lori, who grew up in Kernersville, and three months after our wedding, we moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, to minister in a church there. We took a position at a church in Winston-Salem in 1993, and have been at Triad since August 2000. We have two sons, Harper and Weston.
