Special giving keys start of land development

Land graded for a sports practice field

Members again gave over and above to close out 2015, allowing Triad to begin development on a 92 acres the church bought in December 2014 to expand the church’s campus and ministry offerings.

Dennis Roberts, executive administrator for academy and operations, said that members gave $79,335 in the special end-of-year praise offering. That’s $20,361.94 more than received in the special offering to close out 2014.

The giving will allow Triad to complete a two-mile walking/running trail around the land, build an onsite picnic shelter with large storage capabilities, and make improvements so the ponds on the land can be used for recreation.

All were among uses the church’s Executive Leadership Team had identified as priorities for the special fundraising.

“The work has already begun,” Roberts said. “The rough grading/seeding should be done by the end of the month. The next project will be bridges across two creeks, and we are getting estimates now with completion in early spring.”

Lead Pastor Rob Decker thanked members for making the work possible.

“These sacrificial, end-of-year gifts provide a multitude of ways we can invest in children through our Upward sports programs and Kids Street children’s ministry and offer additional recreation and fellowship for our adult ministries. It’s just another way we continue to expand our ministries into the Kernersville community and beyond.”
